Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

1. Data Controller

Justo is an open-source project. This policy describes how information is handled when you use the application.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Justo does not require user registration nor collects:

  • Names
  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Identification documents
  • Physical addresses
  • Biometric information
  • Personal banking or financial data

3. Locally Processed Data

Certain data is stored exclusively in your browser via localStorage:

  • Selected country: to remember your country preference between visits
  • Preferred language: to maintain your language setting

This data remains on your device and is not sent to our servers. You may delete it at any time from your browser settings.

4. Usage Data (Anonymous Analytics)

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and is GDPR-compliant. Data collected includes:

  • Pages visited
  • Browser type and operating system (general information)
  • Country of origin (approximate from IP address, anonymized)

No individual users are tracked. No unique identifiers are stored. All information is aggregated and anonymous.

5. Cookies

Justo does not use tracking, advertising, or third-party cookies. See our Cookies Policy for more details.

6. API, Processing, and Anonymous Retention

When you use the calculation tools, the data you enter (salaries, dates, etc.) is:

  1. Sent to our server to perform the deterministic calculation
  2. Processed only during the request
  3. Persisted anonymously in Upstash Redis for a maximum period of 3 months for aggregate metrics, service reliability analysis, and product improvement

Persisted information does not include names, email addresses, identification documents, or other direct personal identifiers. Data is stored without being associated with a user account, since Justo does not require registration.

When using the conversational assistant, your message is sent to OpenRouter (a language model API provider) to generate a response. See OpenRouter's privacy policy for how they handle data.

7. Third-Party Links

The service may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such sites.

8. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Cancel or delete your data
  • Object to the processing of your data

Since we do not collect or store identifiable personal data, these rights are automatically exercised by not providing us with such information. For any inquiries, you may contact us through the official project repository.

9. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect information during transmission, including HTTPS encryption. However, no internet transmission is completely secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The date of the latest update appears at the top of the document.

11. Applicable Law

This policy is governed by Nicaragua's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 787) and, supplementarily, by the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
